If State Senator Paul Bailey has his way, Nashvillians could soon be keeping skunks as pets.
He’s filed a bill that would remove the criminal offense of importation or possession of live skunks in the state. The bill has already passed out of committee and is scheduled to be voted upon by the Senate next week.
Pet skunks don’t actually stink, though, as their scent glands are removed when they’re mere skunklings.
